Day 4...it's hard to believe!
My phone rang again this morning at 6AM...I now know who it is going to be at that time of day...and I am thankful for the call. It was Fatima and Elaine...calling from Haiti on Day 4. So much is happening - the next days will bring lots of news!!
Today is going to be spent with Doctors at the mobile clinic and then off to the orphanage. It is difficult for us at home to imagine what it is like there. We spoke about the interesting folks they have met and "encountered". Elaine is quite excited about forwarding pictures. She is going to try to send them tonight and I will post them as soon as I get them. The pictures will no doubt say a thousands words.
Our phone conversation was interrupted twice by distance - however the words they spoke left me with enough encouragement to share these thoughts.
"Life is not a race - but a journey. Recognize the special people you've been blessed to know - and tell them just how special they are". We ended our conversation this morning with 3 simple words, "I Love you" - sometimes those words take your breath away and sometimes they simply mean thank you. This morning they meant both. So..Fatima, Elaine, Catherine, Donna, Mary and Kelly...."We Love You"..x
Sandy
It is wonderful that this group of people has come together to provide aid in Haiti.
